Had a Divorce Recently? Now you can Earn While you Recover
Article by Divorce Blogger
Divorce is one of the most traumatic things that a person can experience. Watching a union that you’d believed would last forever disintegrate will leave residual pain for several years if not decades and many of the items that you have accrued over time will now serve as little more than reminders of your failed marriage. The post-divorce road to recovery is a rocky one, but it’s in any divorcee’s best interest to navigate through it as quickly as possible and if these items are only causing pain, then you need to consider getting rid of them.
Rather than consign these items to the dustbin, however, you can turn a negative into a positive. Divorce is an expensive process and whilst disposing of these unwanted relics, you could recover some of your legal costs. So, before simply throwing away your unwanted marital items, consider their potential worth, create an eBay account and start selling.
If you’re fortunate enough to make some good money, then make sure that put your new cash to good use. Following your divorce, you will have either moved into a new property or, alternatively, may be living in what had previously served as your marital home. In either instance, you should buy some new items for your home. Whether it be furniture, electrical goods or even just a few small trinkets, a few new household items – teamed, perhaps, with a little redecoration – will help you make that house your own and feeling comfortable and content in your new surroundings is an extremely important part of the recovery process.
You could spend the money on a holiday instead. What could be better that a week or two of sun-soaked relaxation after the stress of a divorce after all. If you have children and are concerned about holidaying as a single parent then don’t worry, several companies have recently began to notice this market and now offer package holidays that cater exclusively to single parents. Part of their appeal is that they ensure that the children are entertained and that the parent will get a chance to unwind. It’s a fantastic idea and it’s amazing that someone hadn’t thought of it sooner.
Better yet, if you make enough money from selling off your unwanted marital wares, you could be lucky enough to kit out your new home and get that holiday. So, don’t despair following a divorce, just embrace your new life buy getting shot of whatever reminds you of your old one.
